The Burke Company Designs Contemporary Look

for Hip New Bar in Deep Ellum

Dallas, TX - June 17, 2003 - The Burke Company, one of Dallas' most prestigious design, build, and remodeling firms, stepped into commercial design with the recently opened Down Bar and Lounge at 2038 Commerce Street in Dallas' Deep Ellum district.

The trendy two-story establishment, with a bar downstairs and lounge upstairs, promises to be a destination for the coveted 25-35 year old age group; Burke's contemporary downtown design plays no small part in that appeal. The Burke Company oversaw the project from start to finish -- working with the owners on the design, performing the construction work, and applying the final application of paint.

The bar is located in one of the area's many historic buildings. Working on structures with architectural provenance is nothing new to The Burke Company. They have been remodeling historic homes for over 40 years.

"We weren't at all intimidated by the history of the building, or the scope of the project," says Burke President Jason Asmar. "We looked at the building and the space, and met with Craig Vaught and Tim Hunt, the owners, to decide which direction to take. As always, we worked closely with the client to ensure that their vision was ultimately realized."

The Burke Company's designs can be seen at numerous homes throughout the historic Lakewood, White Rock, and Preston Hollow areas of Dallas.  The company has been in business in Dallas since 1961 and has established itself as one of the region's premier firms for Design/Build/Remodel projects. The National Association of the Remodeling Industry has recognized The Burke Company for their quality of work by awarding them the Contractor of the Year award for two years running.
