Burke Design for Hip Deep Ellum Bar

Contributes to Observer Award

Dallas, TX - September 3, 2003 - When The Burke Company completed the design and build work on the Down Bar and Lounge in Dallas' Deep Ellum district, they knew they had done something special; so they weren't surprised when the establishment was recognized by the Dallas Observer as one of the Top 5 New Bars in Dallas.

The Burke Company, one of Dallas' most prestigious design, build, and remodeling firms, is no stranger to awards and recognition for their work. Having won national and regional awards from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) for two years running and also being recognized by Remodeling Magazine as one of the Big 50 in the industry, they are used to the accolades.

What was new for them was taking on a client in this industry. While The Burke Company has worked on numerous residential, and some commercial, projects in its 44-year history, this was the company's first project in the hospitality industry.

The trendy two-story establishment located at 2038 Commerce Street, with a bar downstairs and lounge upstairs, is a popular destination for the coveted 25-35 year old age group; Burke's contemporary downtown design plays no small part in that appeal. The Burke Company oversaw the project from start to finish -- working with the owners on the design, performing the construction work, and applying the final application of paint.
