New Column Appears Monthly at lakewoodnow.net

January 15, 2009 – DALLAS, TX – Jason Asmar, owner of The Burke Company, one of Dallas’ most well established Design Build Remodel firms has begun writing a monthly column for the online neighborhood newsletter lakewoodnow.net. The column features an insider’s insight into saving money on remodeling projects, how best to plan those projects and how to get the highest return on your remodeling investment.

“Writing a column on what I love brings me a lot of satisfaction,” says Asmar. “I hope it also helps homeowners understand the ins and outs of the design build business. There are lots of ways to be smart about taking on a home remodeling project, but there are many more ways to be not-so-smart. I hope I can help people make some smart decisions.”

Asmar’s first column, entitled “Keeping Up Appearances… and Resale Values” appeared this week on the lakewoodnow.net site. The column analyzes the best return on investment for various common remodeling projects. Future columns will discuss the value of designing around your budget and the smartest way to take on a large project in the current economy.

“Overall, my goal is to help make Dallas-area neighborhoods more beautiful,” explains Asmar. “We do it one house at a time at The Burke Company, but this gives me a chance to share my experience and expertise with a broader audience.”

Asmar recently achieved the title of Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), which required Asmar to complete a series of courses sponsored by the NAHB Remodeler’s Council. The courses are designed to raise the level of business performance in the industry and best practices of business management including planning, organizing, staffing/directing and controlling. The courses also use case studies to give practical and applicable tools for management success.
