CGP Designation Shows Dedication to Reducing Environmental Impact

March 17, 2009 – DALLAS, TX – The Burke Company, one of Dallas’ most well established design, build, remodel firms, announced today that Project Developer Abby Keyes has achieved Certified Green Professional™ (CGP) status with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This certification proves The Burke Company’s commitment to providing its customers with the most environmentally friendly renovation or home addition possible.

In order to achieve the CGP title, Keyes was required to take several NAHB courses on “green” building and business management, among other topics. Other requirements include a minimum of two years’ experience in the industry and adherence to the CGP code of ethics. Keyes will also be required to participate in ongoing continuing education courses in order to maintain her CGP status.

“I have always been committed to providing our customers the best value for their remodeling dollar,” says Keyes. “My certification as a Green Professional provides me with new insights into delivering that value while incorporating appropriate green practices into my work.”

According to NAHB, the Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers.

As the largest and most influential trade organization in the building industry, NAHB has worked for nearly 50 years to strengthen the professionalism of its more than 14,000 remodeling industry members. NAHB is recognized in the building industry as the leading advocate of quality construction, responsible business practices, and reliable customer service.
