The Burke Company Adds to NAHB Certifications
Latest Accreditation Addresses Needs of Aging Population
September 22, 2009 – DALLAS, TX – The Burke Company, one of Dallas’ most well established design, build, remodel firms, announced today that Project Developer Abby Keyes has achieved Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) status with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This certification shows The Burke Company’s dedication to providing well-rounded and comprehensive expertise to a wide range of clients.
The CAPS designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place, which refers to remaining in one's home safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level. It allows seniors to live in a familiar environment throughout their maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich their lives.

The NAHB RemodelorsTM Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed this program to provide comprehensive, practical, market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place.
